Washington, D.C. – The top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) announced today that Anne DeCesaro, Republican staff director for the Subcommittee on Worker and Family Support, is leaving the Committee staff.

Upon announcement of her departure, Rep. Brady released the following statement:

“Anne’s life has been dedicated to the American worker and children in need.  Throughout her time on the Hill to her years of service in the executive branch, Anne has championed policies that help workers reach their full potential and give families the tools they need to succeed – including passage of historic reforms to our foster care and unemployment insurance systems, promoting the restructuring our nation’s cash-for-work welfare program, and countless other initiatives to help lift low-income families and workers out of poverty.

“My Chairmanship benefited greatly from her expertise and our Committee wishes her all our best as she moves on to this next step in her career, continuing the work of helping every child, worker, and parent flourish and take part in the American Dream.”

DeCesaro served as staff director of the Worker and Family Support Subcommittee, previously named the Human Resources Subcommittee, since 2015; and she served as professional staff on the Human Resources Subcommittee staff from 2011 to 2014.  In 2015, she was the lead staffer on the House Agriculture Committee Subcommittee on Nutrition, overseeing the nation’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps.  Earlier in her career she spent a number of years at the Office of Management and Budget and the Social Security Administration.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College and her master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University.
