Brady Applauds Administration’s Action to Increase Price Transparency in Health Care

June 24, 2019 — Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump issued an executive order aimed at making health care prices more transparent:

“I applaud President Trump and his cabinet, including Secretary Azar, for this bold move to inject greater patient-oriented transparency in health care.  The contrast is clear between Republicans’ continuous efforts to lower out of pocket health care costs for families across the country and one-size-fits-all Democrat proposals like ‘Medicare for all’ that centralize control in Washington, D.C.  Republicans remain laser-focused on advancing policies that improve access and affordability of quality health care for all Americans by increasing transparency, ending surprise billing, and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.  I look forward to reviewing the Executive Order and the proposals that come out of this Administration.”
