Brady: Inspector General Report Debunks Democratic Claims at Treasury, Public Has Right to Know

April 10, 2020 — Press Releases

The Woodlands, TX – The top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement concerning the Treasury Inspector General’s response to Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) inquiry for sensitive taxpayer information:

“This report by the Inspector General proves that earlier politically motivated accusations are debunked – Secretary Mnuchin followed the law, complied with all requests, and there is proper oversight taking place at Treasury.

“President Trump and his Administration have been exonerated, as expected, from politically motivated allegations of mishandling Congressional inquiries.

“Given the continued gamesmanship from Democrats on Capitol Hill, I urge this report clearing President Trump and his Administration be released to the public in the spirit of transparency.”
