The Woodlands, TX — The top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after being selected by President Trump to join the President’s Task Force on Reopening the Economy:

“The President is right: We can continue to apply maximum pressure on the coronavirus while reopening our economy safely and responsibly. Not only can we — we must if we hope to prevent hurting working families and the jobless with an unnecessarily extended economic recession.

“State and local leaders, along with local businesses, are eager for the White House to release guidelines.

“I’m honored to serve on the President’s Task Force on Reopening the Economy. As Republican leader of the Ways and Means Committee, we are working with our colleagues in the House to develop temporary incentives to help businesses create safe, healthy workplaces, jumpstart this rebound, and accelerate a return to work for those who are jobless or furloughed.”
