Washington, D.C. – Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, announced his decision to retire at the end of the 116^th Congress:

“Greg Walden has been a great partner in the fight to make health care more affordable and accessible for patients across the country.  Chairman Walden’s tenure at the Energy and Commerce Committee will be remembered for many reasons – including working with the Ways and Means Committee to pass comprehensive legislation to battle the opioid crisis, working to inject transparency and accountability into our health care systems, and helping to make America the energy leader of the world.  He is a dear friend and a trusted voice for so many here in the House.  Cathy and I wish him and his family all our best in his well-deserved retirement from public service.”
